• NEW JERUSALEM BAPTIST CHURCH, 1317 S. Texas St., will host a drive by school supply giveaway from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3.

• WATKIN MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 800 S. Juniper St., will host the 30th anniversary of the pastor and wife, the Rev. Kenneth E. Jones Sr. and Debra Jones, at 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 4. There will be a drive by appreciation from noon to 1 p.m.

• FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, 6501 S. Hazel St., invites the community to worship in its sanctuary at 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 4. The message is a part of a series entitled "Encouraging Words for Discouraging Days" and is based in I Peter. First Baptist observes guidance from the Arkansas Department of Health to protect the health of attendees. This guidance includes social distancing and wearing facemasks. • CHERRY STREET MEMORIAL AME ZION CHURCH, 800 S. Cherry St., will host New Legacy Project live in concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6. The Nashville-based singing group is the former Blackwood Legacy. They are best known for their intricate harmonies, true Southern Gospel sound, and homespun humor. Admission is free. All required social distancing practices will be observed.

• WOMEN OF INFLUENCE ROCK - Reset and Still Rocking - will present a 2020 Zoom Conference with the theme, "Rise Up and Walk" from John 5:8. The free event will be held: Friday, Oct. 9, from 8-10 p.m. -- For boys and girls ages 13 to 18; Saturday, Oct. 10, from 9-11 a.m. -- For women ages 36 and up; Saturday, Oct. 10, from noon to 2 p.m. -- For women ages 26 to 35; Saturday, Oct. 10, from 2:30-4:30 p.m. -- For women ages 19 to 25. Speakers will include Mayor Shirley Washington, Sheriff Lafayette Woods Jr., Virginia Desmuke, executive director of the GMOR Theological Institute; and Jessica Yarbrough, a lawyer.

UNITY CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP CHURCH (UCFC), 2712 S. Bay St., will host the First Sunday Business Fellowship Luncheon after the 10 a.m. worship services Sunday, Oct. 4. Unity also invites the community to its free Small Business and Personal Financial Education classes at 7 p.m. Tuesdays. The church is practicing social distancing and will have hand sanitizer wipes available.

• ST. JOHN AME CHURCH at Pine Bluff invites the community to join the weekly conference call prayer for deliverance from the coronavirus crisis. • ST. PETER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 15th Avenue and Alabama Street, reopened its Saturday Soup Kitchen for carry out meals only. The kitchen will be open every Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Everyone is welcome to the program held in the cafeteria, the red brick building, according to a news release.
