Church notes: Food pantries continue to offer aid

Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E. Lancashire Blvd., continues to suspend non-ministry events and Kids Connect until further notice. Church ministries may meet during office hours by appointment only through the church office. Please call the office to set up your meeting time.

Join in worship Sundays at 9 a.m. (traditional) and at 11 a.m. (contemporary). Social distancing guidelines are being followed for a safe and healthy worship experience.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church, 1990 Forest Hills Blvd., holds Sunday worship services at 8:30 a.m. (traditional service) and at 10:45 a.m. (blended service). Sunday School for all ages and adult Bible classes are at 9:45 a.m. You can also see the worship service at www.bvlutheran.com.

There is a new Inquirer's Class led by Pastor Hass at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday in the library. This class if for those interested in the Lutheran church and is also available to those just wanting to have a refresher course.

The Lutheran Hour is broadcast every Sunday at 12:30 p.m. on radio station KURM-AM (790) and KURM-FM (100.3).

The Men's Bible Class meets on Wednesdays at 1 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. in Classroom 3.

Thanksgiving worship will be at 10 a.m. Nov. 26.

The Shepherd's Food Pantry is open on Fridays from 10 a.m. until noon. Distribution of the special Thanksgiving meals begins Nov. 6 for three weeks. All food handlers wear face masks and ask that visitors also wear a mask and practice social distancing.

First Presbyterian Church in Bentonville, 901 N.E. J St., will hold an outdoor, drive-in evening vespers service at 6 p.m. this Sunday in the south parking lot.

Worship is online Sundays at 10:15 a.m. on Facebook and YouTube.

The FPC Food Pantry is operating as a drive through on Saturdays from 9 to 11 a.m. Please bring something (utility bill, etc.) that shows you are a resident of Benton County, and the church is glad to serve you.

First United Methodist Church in Bella Vista, 20 Boyce Drive, will be providing a free drive-through Thanksgiving dinner rather than its annual Thanksgiving dinner in Fellowship Hall. Local residents are invited to drive through the church parking lot from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Nov. 25 to pick up a serving of Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings – turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, dressing, cranberries, green beans, rolls and dessert. There will also be a pastor available to offer a prayer at pickup.

To ensure accuracy, FUMC asks that you make a reservation no later than Nov. 22 by calling the church office at 855-1158 or online at fumcbellavista.com/thanksgiving. We will have limited delivery available for those unable to drive to the church. If you require delivery, please clarify when you make a reservation.

Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rogers, 2305 S. Dixieland Road, celebrates worship every Sunday at 10 a.m. The City of Rogers' covid-19 precautions are followed.

For those unable to attend, the service is available live on the church Facebook page, and the weekly bulletin is at www.goodshepherdrogers.org. Members who want to take communion but are not comfortable attending services during the pandemic may contact Pastor Randy Moll to make other arrangements.

Bible study at 8:30 a.m. precedes worship and is online at Google Meet. Wednesday night Bible study is at 7 p.m. at the church and on Google Meet.

Highland Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Bella Vista, 1500 Forest Hills Blvd., will continue to present its services on its website or on YouTube (search "highlandchristianchurchbellavista"). A decision to reopen the church will be considered this week.

The Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista, 1880 Forest Hills Blvd., has returned to in-person worship at 10 a.m. Sunday. Safety guidelines are available on the home page of our website (www.pcbv.org). Seating is limited to maintain safe physical distancing, so please let us know you're coming to worship by calling the church office.

Watch the service live on the website or Facebook page. A recording will also be posted on Sunday afternoon. In-person Sunday school classes and other church activities will resume at a later date. No childcare is provided at this time.

Unity Church of the Ozarks, 2200 S.E. J St., Bentonville, presents "The Power of Yes" by the Rev. Elise Cowan at 10:30 a.m. on Facebook. On Wednesday evenings, Larry Owensby presents a short message and a meditation posted on Facebook. These can be viewed at a later time.

The Wednesday Book Club is studying a very impactful book, "The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness" by Michelle Alexander. The book club meets at 4 p.m. on Zoom. Contact the Rev. Cowan for the contact info at [email protected].

Unity Church has placed a Little Free Pantry by the front door of the church at 2200 S.E. J St. in Bentonville. A coat rack with free coats is also at the church. Please help yourself when needed and help others by donating.

Village Bible Church in Bella Vista, 1591 Forest Hills Blvd., presents live worship service at 10:15 a.m. Sundays. Seating arrangements have been readjusted for social distancing. The service is live streamed on Facebook; Vimeo Vimeo.com/user42482704; and later in the day www.villagebibleefc.org; and audio of the live service can be heard on 90.3 FM in the south church parking lot.

The Oasis Food Pantry is open each Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon for drive-through pickup.

Washington County

First Presbyterian Church in Springdale, 100 S. Gutensohn Road, hosts Sunday morning worship services, both in-person and livestreamed, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Online worship services are available on YouTube and through the church's website.

Sunday morning in-person discipleship opportunities include "The Life of Jesus; Theology for Today" and study of the book "Fierce" with Women of Faith. All begin at 9:30 a.m. Study of Present Word via Zoom is at 9 a.m. Sundays. FPC Kids B.L.A.S.T. is in person on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. The B.L.A.S.T curriculum and resources are also available on the church website.

Outdoor office hours with the Rev. Kade Curry are offered Mondays 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Wednesdays 1 to 3 p.m. Call the church to set a time to meet at an outdoor location of your choice.
