Ex-UALR coach releases book

A former coach for the University of Arkansas at Little Rock basketball team has released a book of stories focused on the power of perseverance, positivity, hard work and hard lessons.

Porter Moser, head coach of the men's basketball team the Ramblers at Loyola University in Chicago, has written All in: Driven by Passion, Energy and Purpose, released in February and published through Loyola Press.

Through personal stories, he conveys the energy and drive that has helped lead the team the No. 2 seed at this season's MVC Basketball Championship; among other achievements, he was named the MVC coach of the year in 2018.

Moser, 51, was the head coach for the sport at UALR from 2000-03.

Baptist meeting postponed to 2021

The Southern Baptist Convention has announced its decision this week to cancel its annual meeting, which was set to take place June 9-10 in Orlando, Fla.

The convention's executive committee and other denominational entities announced the decision to cancel on Wednesday due to concerns with covid-19. This year's decision marks the first time in 75 years that the largest Protestant denomination in the United States has canceled the gathering.

According to the convention, the meeting will not be rescheduled, and the next meeting will be held in Nashville, Tenn., on June 15-16, 2021.
