'Broken Harts'

"Broken Harts" podcast investigates a murder-suicide perpetrated by a same sex couple who adopted six children of color, some of whom were from the same family of origin. The podcast crosses the genres of true crime, family dynamics, LGBTQ as well as race in America. "Broken Harts" also explores the dystopia of creating a beautiful online life in which children of color are used as props and delves into the fractured nature of our child welfare system, one in which families can cross state lines to get away from investigations.

'Corona Virus Daily'

Covid-19 news is troubling, overwhelming and sometimes contradictory. Several podcasts are providing curated summaries of the rapidly developing situation. You can find fact-based, succinct summaries by listening to corona virus podcasts. "Corona Virus Daily" from National Public Radio focuses on the news that day about the virus. CNN's "Coronavirus: Fact Vs. Fiction" is presented by Dr. Sajay Gupta, medical correspondent, who tackles some of the rumors and misinformation. The BBC's "Coronavirus Global Update" tracks the story across the globe.

Or Make A Kidcast!

The invitation from the podcast production company Pineapple (pineapple.fm) reads like this:

"Hey kids! Help us make a brand new podcast. Just like you, we are stuck at home and we need help. We need your podcasts. We want to make a podcast with kids all over the world who are stuck at home, to hear what it's like where you are -- what you are doing to fill the time. Making a podcast is really easy, literally anyone can do it. You can do it on your or your parents'/guardians' phone, or laptop, or their professional music studio. Here's what to do..."

• Ask your parent/guardian for permission.

• Come up with an idea and record it using a smartphone voice recording app.

• Give your podcast a name and tell us where you're making it from.

• Send us your podcast; email it to [email protected].
