Best Bets: TV Offers Some New Choices

Best Bet: "Artemis Fowl" -- Author Eoin Colfer's beloved kid genius comes to life in this fantastical, live-action family film. Directed by Kenneth Branagh, the saga follows the journey of a 12-year-old criminal mastermind (newcomer Ferdia Shaw) as he desperately tries to save his kidnapped father. To do so, Artemis must infiltrate an ancient, underground civilization of fairies -- and track down the Aculos, the fairies' most coveted magical device. The cast also includes Lara McDonnell, Josh Gad, Colin Farrell and Judi Dench. "Artemis Fowl" was originally pegged for the big screen this summer, but with theaters shuttered, it will be available for streaming. (June 12, Disney+).

Good bets:

SUNDAY: Hungry for more adventure? "Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted" launches its second season of culinary exploration. The opener takes Ramsay to the Australian island state of Tasmania. (National Geographic Channel).

MONDAY: "The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons -- Ever!" is a series that has host Chris Harrison strolling down memory lane to recall the highlights -- and lowlights -- of the popular reality dating franchise. First up is Season 17 with Sean Lowe, whose proposal stands out as one of the most memorable in the show's history. (ABC).

TUESDAY: Crumbling roofs, bug-infested walls and rotted floors are no match for the mother-daughter design duo of Mina Starsiak Hawk and Karen E Laine as a new season of "Good Bones" begins. Watch them buy dilapidated properties, demo them down to the studs and completely transform them into gorgeous family homes. (HGTV).

WEDNESDAY: Arriving just as our admiration of frontline healthcare workers is at an all-time high, the documentary series "Lenox Hill" takes an intimate look at four New York doctors as they struggle to balance their professional and personal lives. It's named for the Upper East Side hospital where the series takes place. (Netflix).

THURSDAY: There's a lot going on as "The Bold Type" launches the back half of its season. Jane struggles to come to terms with her new body. Sutton takes on her first photo shoot as a Scarlet stylist. And the recently fired Kat strives to find a new direction in her life. (Freeform).
