Let's Eat: Mellow Mushroom to donate pizzas to Washington Regional

FAYETTEVILLE -- Mellow Mushroom plans to give away a pizza to Washington Regional Hospital for every pie it sells on Thursday, July 16.

The company announced the location at 1450 E Augustine Ln would be participating in the program in a news release this week.

The restaurant is open for dine in and carry out from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, according to its Facebook page.

"Mellow is delighted to launch A Pie for A Pie to help those within our local community," said Kevin Kestner, owner of the Fayetteville store. "We are grateful to so many people who have helped us survive this unprecedented time."

Locations across 21 states are participating in the program of donating pies to different community causes, according to the release.

"At Mellow Mushroom, our local owner operators have built strong community connections, which has played a big role in the success of Mellow Mushroom over the years," said Anne Mejia, vice president of brand development. "The strength of this new giving program lies in the ability for our owners to contribute where it matters most in their hometowns."

The Georgia-based chain opened its first restaurant in Atlanta in 1974.
