North Little Rock police on Monday identified the 21-year-old city employee who was killed over the weekend in an accident involving a city leaf machine.
Jared Thompson, 21, of North Little Rock died Saturday after he was struck by a leaf machine, police said. Officer Joe Green, a police spokesman, would not disclose details of the incident because the investigation remains open.
Leaf removal services were halted for the remainder of the weekend, the city said in a Facebook post.
"One of our crew members was struck and killed by a leaf machine," the post read. "Authorities were notified and responded immediately. Our prayers are with the family."
Leaf removal services resumed Monday, the city said.
