HAMBURG -- A few big plays pushed the Lions (5-2, 3-1 8-4A) past the Cougars (5-2, 2-2).
Hamburg took the lead toward the end of the first quarter on junior Gavin Harrod's 4-yard fumble return for a touchdown.
The Lions went up 10-0 at halftime on a 40-yard field goal by Jesus Aguilar.

Junior quarterback Brett Rice threw an 87-yard touchdown pass to senior Nick Bridges to give Hamburg up a 17-0 fourth-quarter lead.
Helena West-Helena senior John Oliver rushed for a 4-yard touchdown shortly afterward to make it 17-6.
A 2-yard touchdown run by Harrod set the final margin.
