POLICE BEAT: North Little Rock man arrested on drug charges

A North Little Rock man was arrested late Sunday after multiple drugs were found on him and in his vehicle, a report said.

Officers with the North Little Rock Police Department said they were dispatched to 818 E. 14th St. in reference to Jelani Akeem Boyd, 28, blaming a woman for losing his firearm and drugs.

Officers said when they arrived they searched Boyd where they immediately found a bag of methamphetamine in his jacket pocket.

A glass pipe and plastic bags containing marijuana, cocaine and heroin were also located in Boyd's vehicle, the report said.

Boyd was charged with possession of meth with purpose to deliver, possession of cocaine with purpose to deliver, possession of heroin with purpose to deliver, possession of marijuana with purpose to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was cited and released from the Pulaski County jail early Monday after being given a court date, Pulaski County sheriff's office spokesman Mitch McCoy said.
