Cosmic Cowboy Studios opens in Fayetteville
Cosmic Cowboy Studios at 322 W. Meadow St. in Fayetteville opened Nov. 1. Created by local filmmaker and musician Benjamin Meade, the Cosmic Cowboy Studio is an audio and visual recording studio. Allowing for contemporary digital and vintage analog recordings, the studio space has been equipped with custom acoustic panels and tested to ensure recording quality.
Organizations receive governor's awards
Several local organizations received Commitment Level Awards during the 25th annual Governor's Quality Awards Celebration on Sept. 12 in Little Rock. Among the winners were Mercy Crest Assisted Living in Barling, Northwest Health in Springdale, Avenir Memory Care at Fayetteville, Home Instead Senior Care of Northwest Arkansas in Rogers and Hope's Creek Assisted Living in Van Buren.
The goal of the program is to encourage Arkansas organizations to engage in continuous quality improvement. The award process aligns with the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality award and used the Baldrige excellence framework. The Governor's Quality Award program is coordinated by the Arkansas Institute for Performance Excellence, nonprofit organization affiliated with the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce.
Urgent care center opens in Springdale
Washington Regional Urgent Care recently opened at 3300 W. Sunset Ave. in Springdale. This will be the sixth Washington Regional Urgent Care in Northwest Arkansas. The clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome or patients can schedule a same day or next day appointment online with Hold My Spot.
Mercy hospitals earn A grades
Mercy Hospital Northwest Arkansas in Rogers and Mercy Hospital Fort Smith received A grades in The Leapfrog Group's Fall 2019 Hospital Safety Grade. Three Mercy hospitals also earned B ratings.
Leapfrog is a national nonprofit patient safety advocate group that assesses U.S. hospitals based on their efforts to prevent medical errors, infections and other patient harm. Leapfrog uses 28 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign grades to hospitals twice a year. The methodology is peer-reviewed and the results are free to the public.
