Detainee stunned twice, police say

Arkansas State Police used a Taser to stun a man twice Friday night after he ran from a traffic stop, an arrest report said.

Officers attempted to pull over a vehicle driven by Jose Martinez, 41, near U.S. 67/167 north, but Martinez fled, initiating a chase, the report said.

Martinez drove to an apartment complex near Redmond Road, where he got out and ran, the report said.

One trooper used a Taser to stun Martinez, put him in handcuffs and called for an ambulance to make sure he was not harmed by the stun gun, the report said.

After medics checked him out, Martinez slipped out of his handcuffs, ran again and was stunned again, troopers reported.

Martinez faces 15 charges, including first-degree escape, a felony; and misdemeanor charges of DWI, fleeing, reckless driving, failure to yield to emergency vehicle, resisting arrest, no driver's license, no seat belt, drinking in public and public intoxication, according to the report.

Martinez was being held without bail Saturday night in the Pulaski County jail, according to the jail's roster.

LR man charged in woman's attack

A Little Rock man was booked into the Pulaski County jail Saturday, accused of attacking a woman, dragging her across a street and running from police, an arrest report said.

On Nov. 3, Little Rock police were sent to 17th and Main streets after a 911 caller reported an assault in progress, the report said. There, Jerrick London, 40, ran from officers and was eventually stunned with a Taser, the report said.

London was taken to UAMS Medical Center to be examined after he was stunned and because officers believed that he was high, the report said.

A woman at 17th and Main streets told police that she was attacked from behind. Officers reported that the woman was "showing signs of being drug across the street."

London was in the Pulaski County jail Saturday evening facing charges of second-degree battery, resisting arrest and fleeing, according to the jail's roster.
