BENTONVILLE 11, SPRINGDALE HAR-BER 0

The Tigers completed a series sweep as Keegan Allen allowed just two singles in the run-rule home win in 6A-West action Thursday. The Tigers (4-0, 2-0) made the most of their four hits as Har-Ber (6-3, 0-2) committed four errors and three Wildcats pitchers combined to walk nine batters. Keaton Cloyd delivered a clutch three-run double for Bentonville, and Parker Charlton drove in a pair of runs. Landon McAlister took the loss for Har-Ber, lasting just 1 1/3 innings and allowing seven earned runs with six walks. Blaise Whittschen went 1 2/3 innings and allowed just one hit, and Walker Immel pitched the final inning for Har-Ber. Bentonville will be on the road for a spring break tournament in Florida next week, while the Wildcats will be in tournament action over spring break in Gulf Shores, Ala.

FAYETTEVILLE 7, BENTONVILLE WEST 4

Fayetteville snapped a 2-2 tie with four runs in the top of the fourth inning, and the Bulldogs held on to defeat West in 6A-West action Wednesday night at Bulldog Field. The game was originally scheduled for the Wolverine Athletic Complex, but it was moved because of wet conditions. West, however, did serve as the home team. Fayetteville (5-2, 1-1) loaded the bases with a single, a hit batter and walk; then, Harrison Wales’ grounder was misplayed and allowed Josh Hart to score the go-ahead run. Another West error on a fly ball allowed another run to score; then, Matthew Magre’s double drove in two runs and gave the Bulldogs a 6-2 cushion. Hank Gibbs pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings and picked up the win in relief of Magre. Fayetteville had only six hits but picked up nine walks. Seth Schonauer drove in two runs for West (5-2, 1-1), while Will Jarrett had two of the Wolverines’ six hits. Carter Bourg, the second of five West pitchers, picked up the loss as he gave up the four unearned runs in the fourth.

SPRINGDALE HIGH 13, ROGERS HERITAGE 1

The Bulldogs made quick work of Heritage to rebound from a Monday loss. Dylan Rollins allowed just three hits and struck out six to earn the five-inning win. Brock Pounders was 2-for-3 with three RBIs to pace Springdale. Alex Bowers, Hunter Cornelison and McKane Woods all belted doubles for the Bulldogs.

GREENWOOD 12, BOONEVILLE 1

Peyton Holt went 3-for-3 and scored three times, while Preston Jurecka drove in three runs to lead the Bulldogs to the run-rule win. Nick Vaughn and Colton Sagely also drove in two runs each for Greenwood, which led 12-0 after four innings. Nick Phelps picked up the win, allowing a run on three hits over five innings. He struck out 10 and walked two.

BERRYVILLE 3, PRAIRIE GROVE 2

Berryville scored three runs in the first inning and held on to defeat Prairie Grove. Tyler Payne pitched five innings and Kooper Logan two innings for Berryville. Jarrett Stringer and Braden Logan each had RBIs for the Bobcats, who managed only one hit in the game.

HUNTSVILLE 10, FARMINGTON 8 (8 INNINGS)

The Eagles claimed a high-scoring game by scoring four runs in the top of the eighth inning to hold off Farmington. The teams combined for 22 hits and eight extra-base knocks. Sean McCone was 2-for-5 with a double and three RBIs for Huntsville (6-1). Clint Eaton was 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Slayter Watkins was 3-for-4 and Darius Savarro was 2-for-4. For Farmington, Eric Hill was 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs. Evan Shoffit homered and drove in three runs. Brandon Hodge was 3-for-4.

FORT SMITH SOUTHSIDE 7, CABOT 2

The Mavericks won their 6A-Central opener as Braiden Partin was dominant over six innings. Partin scattered seven hits but struck out five and allowed just two unearned runs for South-side (4-4, 1-0).

Matthew Schilling, Landon Chaffin and Partin all drove in two runs for the Mavericks.

GREENWOOD 11, PARIS 1

The Bulldogs jumped to a 7-1 lead after two innings and cruised past the Eagles.

Greenwood (5-0) battered two Paris pitchers for eight hits, but the Eagles were undone by committing six errors in the loss.

Mariah Hamilton belted two triples and drove in two runs for Greenwood. Angela Price was 2-for-4 with a double.

Greenwood’s Rheding Wagoner allowed five hits over five innings with six strikeouts to silence the Paris bats. Jadyn Hart and Sydney Ward had two hits each for Paris (8-2).

CABOT 13, FORT SMITH SOUTHSIDE 6

Cabot scored in every inning to bounce Fort Smith Southside on Thursday.

The Panthers (8-1) belted 18 hits including 10 extra-base knocks. Cabot sent five softballs over the fence for home runs.

Rylie Hamilton was 3-for-5 with a triple and home run and five RBIs for Cabot. Grace Neal was 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Aubrey Lee and Savannah Snow also homered for Cabot.

Meliah Hunter was 3-for-3 with a home run for Southside. Hannah Hogue was 3-for-4 with a triple, and Madi Conklin and Hayley Hall had two hits each.

FARMINGTON 15, HUNTSVILLE 0

Farmington scored nine runs in the first inning of a game that was called after three innings.

Alyssa Reed had three hits while Kally Stout and Remington Adams added two apiece for the Lady Cardinals (5-1). Huntsville made eight errors and did not get a hit.

HARRISON 4, GENTRY 1

Harrison did all of its scoring in the sixth inning as the Lady Goblins defeated Gentry in a 4A-1 Conference game.

Caroline Cecil, Cameron Casey and Lexi Norris all singled and scored in the sixth for Harrison, while Lakyn Thomas walked and scored. Kyleigh Wheaton provided Gentry’s run in the fifth when she scored and scored.

SPRINGDALE HAR-BER 4, ROGERS HERITAGE 1

The Wildcats got goals from four different players in a 6A-West Conference win Thursday. Thomas Ayala, Esteban Fuentes, Fidel Garcia and Denilson Pinto all scored for the Wildcats (5-2, 1-1).

VAN BUREN 3, BENTONVILLE HIGH 1

Bentonville fell into a 2-0 at halftime and didn’t recover as the Tigers dropped a 6A-West decision at Van Buren. Frankie Suchara had the lone goal for Bentonville (4-2, 1-1).

ROGERS HIGH 5, FAYETTEVILLE 0

Sammy Zammaron scored two goals, while three other Mounties added one each in the 6A-West Conference win. Nelson Rivas, Estban Chavez and Andres Saldierna each score one goal for Rogers.

GIRLS

ROGERS 2, FAYETTEVILLE 2 (5-4 PKS)

The Lady Mounties got a pair of big penalty kick saves from keeper MacKenzie Brace to claim the 6A-West Conference win in a shootout on Thursday. Jordan Badely and Lelsie Barrales each scored a goal for the Lady Mounties. Those two also converted penalty kicks, along with Haley Arrick, Ashlynn Robinson and Samantha Todd.

ROGERS HERITAGE 3, SPRINGDALE HAR-BER 2

Lanee Knight snapped a 2-2 tie in the second half to help the Lady War Eagles claim the 6A-West Conference win on Thursday evening. Knight also had an assist, while Pam Seiler added a goal and an assist. Ruth Duran scored Heritage’s other goal. The match was tied 2-2 at halftime.
