Network races toward inclusion

Northwest Arkansans are invited to join Arkansas Support Network for the seventh annual Moving Together: Racing Toward Inclusion Walk-Run-Roll race June 22 at Veterans Memorial Park in Fayetteville.

Organizers say "Moving Together is an inclusive race that celebrates all bodies and all abilities. This race features a chip-timed 5K paved run, chip-timed 10K trail run, and a 1-mile fun walk, roll and run. Pets are welcome."

The group serves individuals with disabilities with offerings that include the Community Parent Resource Center, community living services and vocational foundations -- such as supported employment, social and work skills development and enrichment opportunities in creativity, recreation and literacy.

The nonprofit organization's Kids Career Club summer day camp provides an opportunity for 14- and 15-year-olds with disabilities to experience summer day camp. Students participate in field trips and community-based activities and learn about self-advocacy, post-graduation options and work readiness training.
