UA director of recruiting leaving

University of Arkansas director of recruiting Taylor Edwards announced on Sunday that he is leaving to take a similar position at the University of Maryland for new Coach Mike Locksley.

Edwards, 31, will take the position of director of scouting operations for the Terrapins.

Edwards' work in social media is seen as playing a key role in the successful recruiting class the Razorbacks landed on the early national signing day in December.

Edwards announced his departure in a Twitter post, writing that the class is the best in school history and pointed toward the future for Arkansas fans.

"Just be patient. Rome wasn't built in a day!" Edwards wrote.
