FAYETTEVILLE -- Devonta Smith, who was arrested Wednesday in connection with a New Year's Eve shooting is being held in the Washington County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond.
Smith, 18, of Fort Smith, was arrested Wednesday in connection with a shooting reported at 1101 S. Curtis Ave. about 11:30 p.m. Monday. A person with a gunshot wound was taken to a hospital and treated and released.
Sgt. Anthony Murphy, spokesman for the Fayetteville Police Department, said Thursday police were not releasing any information about the victim in the shooting.
Fayetteville detectives and the Fort Smith Police Department worked together to identify and arrest Smith.
Smith faces charges of first-degree battery and committing a terroristic act. He is set for arraignment Jan. 14 in Washington County Circuit Court.
