Where I live: In Pleasant Valley with Scott, my husband of 29 years, and three college kids who are in and out. We also have a Golden Doodle, June.
Occupation: I own AP Monograms, and we create monogrammed gifts. The shop is online, and we also work with decorators in Arkansas and surrounding states. Need a quick easy gift for someone and you want it to feel personal without costing a fortune? That's our specialty.
My favorite space is: My kitchen. We don't have a separate dining room so the dining table and the kitchen are all one space. It has good light and basically no storage, so I have things stored all over the house that I use in the kitchen. There's an island and bar stools that get a lot of use. When my kids were still at home they would sit in the kitchen and do homework while I cooked, which I loved.
Why? I love to cook and bake, especially for company. We host people at our table often. I also love to set the table. There is such joy in creating a setting for people to feel special, like they are worth the effort. I have many different sets of dishes and many, many monogrammed napkins!
If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: Open up the dining end and have a table so big it would seat 14-16 people.
