Fort Smith student arrested after school threat

A 15-year-old Fort Smith student has been arrested after making threats against a Fort Smith junior high school on Sunday, according to a release from the police department.

The Fort Smith Police and the Fort Smith Public Schools Police Department became aware of a credible threat made on social media by the 15-year-old student on Sunday, according to the release.

The student's name is being withheld since Arkansas state law prohibits the release of information regarding juvenile offenders.

The Fort Smith Police determined there is no immediate threat to any of Fort Smith's area schools now that the student in custody.
