Body of missing deputy is found

Searchers found the body of a 44-year-old Arkansas sheriff's deputy who disappeared last month after diving into Lake Ouachita, authorities said Saturday morning.

The body of Grant County Deputy Keith Wright was found in the water north of Mountain Harbor Resort at Mount Ida about 7 p.m. Friday, Grant County Sheriff Ray Vance said.

Wright disappeared July 19 after he and another man dove into the lake while boating, a news release by the Montgomery County sheriff's office says.

Their party barge drifted away from them, and while the other man was able to make it to shore and await rescue, searchers were unable to find Wright.

Before becoming a deputy in the Grant County sheriff's office, Wright worked as a Pine Bluff police officer and a Pulaski County sheriff's deputy.
