Penry resigns post as ASU fundraiser

The chief fundraiser at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro is leaving.

Vice Chancellor for University Advancement Jason Penry has resigned to take a job at another institution, the school announced Friday.

Erika Krennerich Chudy, director of planned giving, will be the interim vice chancellor. Chudy has served as director of planned giving since 2011, when she first joined ASU, a news release said.

Penry has been vice chancellor since 2013. During that time, the university has had six of its seven "all-time best years of giving," the release said. That included a more than $10 million gift to name the College of Business for Neil Griffin.

Penry also was instrumental in bringing a branch of the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine to ASU's campus, the release said.
