Heavy rainfall predicted in Northwest Arkansas, flash flood watch issued

A flash flood watch was issued this morning due to heavy rainfall in the forecast for Northwest Arkansas, according to the National Weather Service's website.

The region is expected to see multiple showers and thunderstorms through Saturday.

A total of 2 to 4 inches of rain may fall through Sunday morning, increasing the likelihood of flash flooding in the region, according to the site.

As much as 8 inches of rain is possible in small sections of the region.

Thursday night through Friday morning and Friday night through Saturday morning are predicted to have the highest chance of showers and thunderstorms, according to the site.

Storms are expected to decline this afternoon.

The flash flood watch is in effect through Sunday evening, according to the site.
