THE SCOOP Most Valuable Player of the Class 6A state tournament for Fort Smith Northside, which won its second state title in three years. …. Williams averaged nearly 20 points per game during the state tournament after mostly missing last year’s championship game because of strep throat and flu-like symptoms. … Had 20 points, 16 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 blocked shots in the championship game, which Northside won 44-41 over Bryant. … Scored 20 points and made 13-of-17 free-throw attempts in state tournament win over Bentonville West. … Averaged 15.6 points for the season and blocked 93 shots in 32 games. … A top recruit who will be targeted by many Division I programs, including Arkansas. … Grew another inch this past season and now lists himself at 6-10. … Will play AAU basketball in the summer with Little Rock-based Woodz Elite.
