A Southern-style garden party was held on the lawn of the Old State House Museum on May 5, combining the seventh annual Seersucker Social and Derby Day.
Guests arrived wearing traditional Southern summer attire including seersucker, gingham, linen and with a nod to the Kentucky Derby, many wore hats.
The festivities started with lawn games such as croquet and Baggo, snacks and mint juleps. Later, guests enjoyed hors d'oeuvres, a raffle, contests for best dressed, best hat and best shoes and -- of course -- watched the Derby.
Hosted by the Arkansas State House Society, the event helps support the Old State House Museum School Bus Fund, which helps finance school visits and other educational programs.Gallery: Annual Seersucker Social and Derby Day garden party
