Walton group plans downtown Bentonville hotel

A development group led by Tom Walton announced today plans to develop the Southeast corner of the Bentonville square into a 100-200 room full-service hotel, according to a press release.

The hotel will be built on the Tucker's Corner site that is currently home to the Greater Bentonville Area Chamber of Commerce. The project is in the early states of development and is expected to break ground in 2019.

"We have a tremendous opportunity to meet the needs of Northwest Arkansas' business and leisure travelers. This project will be ideally positioned at the heart of Bentonville's culinary and hospitality center, as well as the outstanding bike trails of the region." Walton said in the release. "This new hotel will offer another signature amenity for guests coming to Northwest Arkansas."
