The church offers a 13-week GriefShare program for those who have suffered loss. The class starts Thursday.

The University of Arkansas offers a course on introduction to Jewish languages during the fall semester, taught by Jacob Adler, rabbi of Temple Shalom of Northwest Arkansas in Fayetteville. The class meets from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday.

The course will introduce the Hebrew alphabet and several languages written in Hebrew letters -- ancient and modern Hebrew, Aramaic and Yiddish.

Holiday Island Community Church, 188 Stateline Drive, offers a Women of the Bible study, with a DVD reenactment by actress Anita Gutschick of the woman at the well Tuesday. The sessions start at 10 a.m.
