An undisclosed amount of money was stolen in a break-in at a west Little Rock pizza restaurant late Monday, an employee told police.

An officer with the Little Rock Police Department was sent around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday to investigate a commercial burglary that happened around 11:50 p.m. Monday at Blaze Pizza, 11525 Cantrell Road.

One employee said that when she arrived at work Tuesday morning, both rear doors and the business' safe were open, and money had been taken.

The operations manager for the Blaze Pizza location said the burglary may have been recorded on surveillance cameras.

No suspects were named, and no arrests had been made as of Wednesday.

LR home invader forces ATM trips

After a Little Rock home invasion early Tuesday, a robber forced a resident and her 9-year-old daughter to travel to two ATMs, eventually leaving with $300 in cash and an $800 check.

The 50-year-old resident told police that a black man wearing dark clothing and a mask entered her Foxcroft Village Drive home through an open garage door around 4 a.m.

The robbery was reported to police around 8:40 a.m. Tuesday.

According to a Little Rock Police Department report, the robber made his way upstairs where the woman and her daughter were asleep.

The woman said she awoke to find the assailant shining a light in her face and wielding a knife. She reported that the robber ordered her out of bed and demanded cash.

After saying she had no money, the woman was forced to drive the assailant and her daughter to Regions Bank at 8023 Cantrell Road, where $300 was withdrawn from an ATM, the report states.

The woman said they then drove to a second ATM at OneBanc at 8000 Cantrell Road, after the robber became upset about the withdrawal limit at Regions Bank. No additional money could be withdrawn from the second bank, she told officers.

The robber became angry, which prompted the woman to offer to write him a check for $800, officers noted.

Police said a check was made out to "Dovante Gardner" before the robber fled.

No arrests had been made as of Wednesday.

Employees were held at gunpoint in a Little Rock discount store while a robber stole cash from the business Tuesday night, according to a report from the Little Rock Police Department.

The assistant store manager, a 24-year-old woman, told police that two people dressed in black clothing, gloves and ski masks entered the Dollar General Store at 3124 Roosevelt Road around 9 p.m.

The woman said the two robbers locked the store door behind them, and forced her and three other employees into the manager's office at gunpoint.

One robber held the employees at gunpoint while the other took money out of the cash registers and safe, the report said.

The report said the robbers also made off with one employee's cellphone, which was valued at $1,000.

The assistant manager told police that she last saw the robbers fleeing from the store on foot, heading south on Brown Street toward Asher Avenue.

Police have named no suspects, and no arrests had been made late Wednesday.
