Beaver Lake: Fishing for catfish is good on the south end of the lake.

Steve McClelland at Hickory Creek Marina said trot lines, limb lines, jug lines and rod and reel are all working. Small sunfish are the best bait.

Black bass are biting top-water lures. Crappie can be caught 15 feet deep around brush with minnows or jigs. A good jig color is red or black body with a chartreuse tail.

John Newlun at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers reports black bass are hitting top-water lures early and plastic worms later in the day. Points are good spots to try.

The crappie spawn is over, and crappie are 10 to 15 feet. Use minnows or jigs around brush piles or docks that are over deep water.

Striped bass are hitting top-water lures or shad early from Point 5 to the dam.

Beaver tailwater: Tom Steinke at the Beaver Dam Store said fly fishermen are catching trout with nymphs, midges and hare's ears.

The best trout bait is Power Bait combined with a waxworm. The top lures are Rooster Tails, small spoons and countdown Rapalas.

Walleye, white bass and black bass can be caught downstream from Houseman Access.

Lake Fayetteville: Al Perea at the lake office said catfish are biting well on cut bait or goldfish. Bluegill are biting crickets or worms. Black bass are hitting Zoom Flukes. Crappie action has slowed, but some are being caught with small jigs or minnows.

Lake Sequoyah: Mike McBride at the lake bait shop said fishing is excellent for bluegill and redear. Use crickets or worms four inches to a foot deep.

Crappie fishing is fair with minnows or jigs six feet deep. Black bass are biting spinner baits or top-water lures.

Lake Elmdale: Lucky Key at Duck Camp Fishing Retreat said bluegill and redear are biting crickets two feet deep under a bobber. Crappie are biting minnows best, but jigs also work. Fish 10 feet deep on either end of the dam.

Black bass are biting plastic worms and top-water lures. A 6.25-pound largemouth was caught last week on a blue plastic worm, Key said. For catfish, use live or cut sunfish.

Swepco Lake: Kenny Stroud in Siloam Springs said black bass are biting top-water lures, swim baits and plastic worms. Try night fishing for bass with dark plastic worms.

Siloam Springs Lake: Stroud recommends fishing for bluegill with crickets or nightcrawlers.

Illinois River: Stroud recommends small soft-plastic lures or small Rebel crawdad crank baits for black bass.

Bella Vista: Justin McClelland at Hook, Line and Sinker in Bella Vista said bluegill fishing is fair at all Bella Vista lakes with worms or crickets. Black bass are biting plastic worms or jig and pigs. Catfish are biting fair on liver or shrimp.

Eastern Oklahoma: The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation reports good crappie fishing at Grand Lake with minnows or jigs around docks. Catfish are biting liver or shad.

Table Rock Lake: Pete Wenners at Pete's Professional Guide Service said black bass are biting top-water lures, swim baits, Ned rigs and four-inch grubs.

The Missouri Department of Conservation reports good fishing for bluegill with Beetle Spins or worms. Crappie are fair with minnows.
