Arrest made in death of Garfield man found in Madison County

A man in Benton County Jail has been connected to the death of a 53-year-old Garfield man whose body was found Aug. 29 in Madison County, according to the Benton County Sheriff's Office.

Cody Wise, 26, of Rogers, was arrested Sept. 4 in connection with the death of Ronnie Kultgen, according to a news release issued Sept. 10 from the Benton County Sheriff's Office.

Wise was booked into the Benton County Jail on May 7, according to jail records.

Kultgen had been missing from Garfield for four months before he was found. He was last seen April 15 in Garfield, according to information from the Benton County Sheriff's Office. Kultgen's body was identified through medical records.

Wise is being held in the Benton County Jail in connection with possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia connected to methamphetamine or cocaine, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, possession of firearms by certain persons, felony failure to appear and revocation of a suspended sentence or probation.

Jail records show his bond set at $160,000. Once his court case in Benton County is resolved he will be transferred to the Washington County Detention Center and will face a count of capital murder in the Fourth Judicial Circuit Court, which covers Madison and Washington counties, according to the Benton County release.
