Driver, pedestrian killed on highways

Two men were killed in separate, single-vehicle crashes on Arkansas roads Tuesday, the Arkansas State Police reported.

Shawn Bell, 44, of Yellville was killed Tuesday when his eastbound 1992 Toyota pickup left Arkansas 14 at 5:50 p.m. and overturned in Marion County, according to a state police report. The crash happened about 4.8 miles west of Summit.

A pedestrian from Pennsylvania was killed Tuesday morning after being hit by a car while crossing the southbound lane of U.S. 63 in Jonesboro in Craighead County, state police reported.

Justin Bowersox, 27, of Erie, Pa., was crossing U.S. 63 at Southwest Drive at 6:55 a.m. when he was hit by a southbound 2006 Hyundai Sonata, the report said. Bowersox was pronounced dead at Regional One Health in Memphis. The driver of the Sonata, who was not listed in the report, was not injured.

At the time of both crashes, the weather was clear and roads were dry.
