Arkansas State Police are investigating a Wednesday night shooting in Perry County that left a Perryville man dead.
According to a news release, William J. Bates, 31, of Perryville was killed in the shooting that occurred at the home of brothers Dalton and J.D. Goodman about 2 miles west of Perryville on Arkansas 60.
Perry County sheriff's office deputies responded to a disturbance call at the Goodman home about 6:20 p.m., the release said.
One unidentified person was taken into custody at the scene by local authorities and charges are pending as special agents with the state police's Criminal Investigation Division investigate, the release said.
