It was that kind of night for the Lady Saints, who fell 56-14 to the Lady Tigers in a 4A-1 Conference game on Tuesday. Shiloh Christian (1-13, 0-3) was competitive only in the first quarter when the Lady Saints trailed 12-10. Prairie Grove (7-8, 3-0) then applied defensive pressure and Shiloh Christian had trouble getting the ball across midcourt.

Prairie Grove outscored Shiloh Christian 13-2 in the second quarter to lead 25-12 at halftime. The Lady Tigers continued to frustrate Shiloh Christian in the second half before Prairie Grove Kevin Froud emptied the bench with his team leading 40-12 with 3 minutes, 29 seconds left in the third quarter. Taylor Hartin scored 15 points to lead Prairie Grove, whose reserves held the Lady Saints without a point in the fourth quarter.

"We did a good job of forcing turnovers and making it hard for them to get the ball across midcourt," Froud said. "We're not very big, so that's the way we've got to play. We want to try and get extra possessions with our defense."

Shiloh Christian entered the game with three of its top six players out with injuries. The list grew to four when starting guard Veronica Adams hit the floor hard late in the first quarter and was helped off the court. Adams, who had six points, did not return after suffering an apparent concussion.

Rachel Breeding also left in the game in the fourth quarter for Shiloh Christian with a pulled calf muscle.

"Veronica is one of the better points guards in the league," Shiloh Christian coach Mat Stewart said. "We were still in the game when she went down. That's her fourth concussion in two years and when she went out, that really took the wind out of our sails."

Parker Galligan finished with 12 points to lead a balanced scoring attack for Prairie Grove. Tanner Pursell, D.J. Strong, and Dylan Soehner each added 10 points for the Tigers (6-8, 2-1), who won despite making only 8 of 20 free throws.

Pursell started the second quarter with a 3-pointer to give the Tigers a 14-3 lead. Galligan followed with consecutive drives to the basket to help Prairie Grove to increase its lead to 25-11 at halftime.

Hunter Wilson finished with 14 points to lead Shiloh Christian.
