Just released, parolee jailed in '12 slaying

A 29-year-old North Little Rock man was arrested on a first-degree murder charge in a 2012 case Friday morning at the Arkansas Department of Correction's Grimes Unit in Newport.

The Correction Department released Kameron Bradley, of 1719 Beech St. in North Little Rock, at 10:38 a.m. Friday, department spokesman Shea Wilson said. Bradley was then held on a parole detainer, she said.

An hour later, North Little Rock police arrived to arrest Bradley and transport him to the Pulaski County jail, where he remained Friday night.

Wilson said she did not know the details of the crime in which Bradley was arrested Friday.

Officer Carmen Helton, a spokesman for North Little Rock police, did not answer an Arkansas Democrat-Gazette text message Friday. A lieutenant with the department forwarded the newspaper's request to Helton.

North Little Rock spokesman Nathan Hamilton said the department would issue a news release today about the arrest.

The offense number for the warrant indicated the slaying involved in the case occurred in 2012.

Bradley was initially sentenced to prison in 2004 on a count each of aggravated robbery and aggravated assault. Since then, Wilson said, Bradley has been in and out on parole violations.

He was released in 2010 but sent back to prison in 2012. He was released, then returned to prison again and released a third time Friday morning, Wilson said.

"He's just violated his parole every time he's gotten out," Wilson said.

No bond was listed for Bradley on the arrest report or on the jail roster Friday night.
