Bentonville Lift Station To Be Renovated

BENTONVILLE -- The City Council approved spending $2.2 million for renovation Tuesday to the south lift station and a south force main construction project.

The bid was awarded to Forsgren Inc. of Fort Smith. The project will be paid with sewer capacity fees, according to council documents.

The station overflowed several times as a result of not having enough capacity, Mike Bender, public works director, wrote in a memo to Mayor Bob McCaslin. Upgrades, primarily increasing the size of the force main, are needed to meet the station's demand.

The city received six bids Aug. 27 for the project, according to meeting documents.
