PEA RIDGE -- Lincoln dominated time of possession in the first half Friday. That likely just kept Pea Ridge from scoring more often.

The Blackhawks scored all of their points in the first half on quick drives, and coasted to a 42-14 victory over the Wolves at Blackhawk Stadium.

The Blackhawks (5-0, 2-0 4A-1 Conference) scored on their first play and were never threatened as the defense shut down the Wolves (1-4, 0-2) at nearly every turn.

Shane Ivy raced 64 yards for a touchdown on Pea Ridge's first offensive play.

The Blackhawks then got a special teams touchdown when Britton Caudell blocked a punt and returned it 26 yards for a touchdown to give Pea Ridge a 14-0 lead less than four minutes into the game.

"They got on us kind of early and it just snowballed on us," Lincoln Coach Scott Davenport said. "We never got a rhythm going on either side of the ball."

The Wolves had the ball more than three times longer than the Blackhawks in the first half, but couldn't generate much offense. Lincoln gained 40 of its 68 yards in the half on its lone scoring drive.

The Wolves recovered a muffed punt return at the Blackhawks 40 with 5:37 left in the first half. Charles Rowe scored from the 11 with 4:04 remaining to cut the deficit to 28-6.

"The defense put us in great shape, then a first-play touchdown and finally we got a big special-teams play that goes our way," Pea Ridge Coach Tony Travis said. "We've been giving up some of those this year. That's a big momentum swing early."

The Blackhawks had extended their lead to 28-0 earlier in the second quarter on Seth Brumley's 25-yard pass to Nick Hardy and a 15-yard run by Brumley.

Pea Ridge closed the half with scoring drives of two and three plays, the latter capped by Ivy's second touchdown with 33 seconds left to give the Blackhawks a 42-6 halftime lead.

The second half was played with a continuously running clock under the Arkansas Activities Association's sportsmanship rule.

Lincoln scored the only points of the second half on a one-yard run by Alex Pitts with 5:03 left.
