Five Arrested In Springdale In Connection With Stolen Car

SPRINGDALE -- Five people were arrested Tuesday on felony charges related to a stolen car, according to police.

An officer was patrolling a parking lot Tuesday when he found a gold Oldsmobile Alero reported stolen in Fulton County, according to a news release from Springdale police. He saw people enter the vehicle and drive away on Thompson Street.

Officers stopped the car near the intersection of Thompson Street and Hembree Avenue and arrested five people, according to the release.

Van Weaver, 31, was arrested in connection with felony theft by receiving, probation violation and misdemeanor warrants from other agencies, police said.

Anthony Ivers, 31, was arrested in connection with theft by receiving, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, all felonies, and misdemeanor warrants from other agencies,

Tommy Maples, 28, was arrested in connection with theft by receiving, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, all felonies.

Cory Ryan, 24, was arrested in connection with felony theft by receiving, according to the release.

Mashaun Mosbey, 22, was arrested in connection with felony theft by receiving and misdemeanor criminal use of a prohibited weapon.

All were later taken to Washington County Detention Center, according to the release.
