LITTLE ROCK CENTRAL 4-2, CABOT 1-8 Cabot senior Adam Hicks retired 14 consecutive batters and finished with a four-hitter as the Panthers earned a split of their 7A/6A-East doubleheader with Little Rock Central at Buddy Coleman Field. Hicks struck out 10 and walked only one in the complete-game victory. Cabot took advantage of five Central errors and picked up two hits each from Lee Sullivan, Riley Knudsen and Denver Mullins. In the first game, Central pitcher Joey Abraham struck out 12 and limited the Panthers to four hits. The Tigers’ Brandon Randall banged out a two-run single in the second inning and Nathan Abraham and Larry Johnson eachdrove in runs in a two-run fifth inning. Cabot’s Zach Patterson struck out seven and walked four, while Knudsen drove in his team’s lone run. Central leads the conference with a 6-2 record. Cabot is 3-5 in league play.

CONWAY 13, RUSSELLVILLE 4 Cade Jones collected three hits and drove in six runs as the Wampus Cats defeated the Cyclones and improved to 5-2 in 7A/6A-Central play. Bubba Carter went four innings and struck out seven for Conway, which had eight hits and took advantage of three Russellville errors. Conner Williams drove in four runs for Conway. Russellville fell to 4-3 in league play.
