Traffic stop leads to marijuana bust in Crawford County

Two New Mexico men were arrested Tuesday afternoon in Crawford County when highway police stopped their truck and found a large amount of marijuana in the vehicle.

Jason Price, 42, and John Magnus, 48, were traveling from Albuquerque to Tennessee when Arkansas highway police stopped their truck near Alma, according to a statement from the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department.

Officers searched the vehicle and found about 100 pounds of marijuana, estimated to be worth $200,000, in the truck bed, department officials said.

Price and Magnus were taken into custody and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, officials said. Both are being held at the Crawford County jail in lieu of $15,000 bond.
