The Eureka Springs Downtown Network is looking for entries for the inaugural Five-Minute Film Fest, set for June 28 at Basin Spring Park.

Filmmakers of every age and experience level are welcome to submit films no longer than five minutes in duration. There is no theme for the festival; all genres are welcome.

Judges will be announced prior to the festival, and three films will be selected for top honors. The audience favorite will also receive an award.

Submissions must be received by 5 p.m. June 20. All films must be family-friendly and be made by Arkansas residents.

Botanical Garden offers day camps

The Botanical Garden of the Ozarks in Fayetteville will offer a summer day camp for children ages 6 to 11 this year. The camp will run June 11 through July 30, with sessions set for 9:30 a.m.-noon Tuesday mornings.

The camp will introduce children to nature through discussions and projects about plants, art, animals, the environment and healthy foods. Employees will help campers make herb pots and explore the Lake Fayetteville Trail.

Rebekah Spurlock, a park interpreter at Devil’s Den State Park, will present Creature Features, and Marie Vukin of Project Play Everyday will teach children how to use their senses outdoors.

Other activities include Water Wisdom with the Beaver Water District, a tour of the butterfly house, a nature hunt, make-and-take recycled nature art and terrariums, and a nutrition session with Ozark Natural Foods.

The cost to attend all eight sessions is $200. Cost for four sessions is $110, and individual sessions cost $30 each.
