Rodeo queen to be crowned Saturday

Five young cowgirls will vie for the title of Miss Rodeo of the Ozarks 2013.

The new queen will be crowned during Saturday’s performance of the Rodeo of the Ozarks at Parsons Stadium in Springdale.

Queen contestants are: Karli Jones of Big Cabin, Okla;

Kelsey Parmenter of Pea Ridge;

Amanda Rodgers of Rogers Amanda Scott of Welch, Okla., and Breanna Wortman of Neosho, Mo.

The girls will appear in both rodeo parades, at 3 p.m.

Wednesday and 10 a.m. Saturday on Emma Avenue in downtown Springdale; at a Western style show at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Cavender’s in Springdale; and each night at the Buckle Club and performance of the rodeo.

Horsemanship is judged at 9 a.m.

Thursday at Parsons Stadium.

The queen contestants will be joined at events by Miss Rodeo of the Ozarks 2012, Charley Stephenson of Springdale; Miss RodeoArkansas 2013, Kirbi Allen of Springdale; and Miss Old Fort Days Rodeo 2013, Jessica Stamps of Springdale.
