Police: Woman reports burglary, rape; arrest made

A woman reported a man broke into her home and raped her Sunday night, according to court documents.

Scott James Haid, 50, of Rogers was arrested in connection with rape, residential burglary, domestic battering in the third degree, violation of a protection order and contempt. He is being held in the Benton County Jail with no bond set.

The woman told Sheriff’s Office deputies she went to bed about 9 p.m. Sunday and got up about 90 minutes later. She went into her kitchen when she heard a loud crash at her front door, according to court documents. The woman said she turned around and saw Haid, who grabbed her by the hair and forced her into the living room, the affidavit states.

The woman said Haid physically assaulted her and then raped her, according to court documents. Haid fled the home after seeing head lights outside the house, according to the affidavit.

Haid faces domestic battery charges in connection with another incident involving the woman. He had been ordered not to have any contact with her, according to court documents.
