Arkansas running backs Kiero Small and Jonathan Williams, Arkansas State running back David Oku and Louisiana Tech’s Kenneth Dixon were among 64 players named to the Doak Walker Award watch list Thursday.
Small played in only one game last season because of a broken foot, but played in 13 games in 2011, rushing once for a touchdown, catching a 7-yard pass and returning a kick 17 yards.
Williams started two games as a freshman last season, rushing 45 times for 231 yards and catching 8 passes for 208 yards and 2 touchdowns, including a 77-yard touchdown on the first play of the game in last year’s victory over Kentucky.
Oku, a senior, rushed for 1,061 yards and 16 touchdowns, the third-most by an ASU player, and gained 1,291 all-purpose yards.
Dixon, who is from Strong, rushed for 1,194 yards and 27 touchdowns last year for the Bulldogs.
