Little Rock Parkview running back Alex Cottrell (center) is brought down by Greenwood defender Kolten Schibbelhut (53) and others in the Bulldogs’ 34-21 victory Friday night.

The touchdown came one play after Morgan had a 57-yard reception from junior quarterback Jabe Burgess.

“He’s a difference-maker, there’s no doubt about it,” Jones said of Morgan. “It’s just a matter of finding ways to get him the ball.”

Burgess finished 21 of 27 passing for 264 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Parkview (2-3, 0-2) was led by senior tailback Rashaad Earls, who ran 22 times for 142 yards and 1 touchdown.

But Caelon Harden, Parkview’s standout senior quarterback, was limited to 6 rushing yards on seven carries.

Harden, who also starts at safety, sprained his ankle late in the second quarter and was limited the remainder of the game.

Senior Alex Butler replaced Harden at quarterback and gave Parkview a 21-14 lead after a 46-yard touchdown pass to senior wide receiver Tevin Jackson with 1:12 left in the first half.

It was 21-21 at halftime on a 5-yard touchdown pass from Burgess to Morgan with 18 seconds remaining in the second quarter.

Parkview had two chances to take the lead in the third quarter, but Harden was intercepted at the Greenwood 11 by junior safety Taylor Hasley at 3:25 and by junior Jonathan Clemons in the end zone for a touchback at 1:31.

“They’re a real good ball club, and you can’t make those type of mistakes against a real good ball club,” Parkview Coach William Hardiman
