streaker time

behind bars

Batman made an appearance on the field at Sunday’s Baltimore Ravens game. Well, at least his shorts and cape did, on a seminude man who jumped onto the M&T Bank Stadium field two minutes before the end of the second quarter.

It was the same man, 26-yearold truck driver Mark Harvey, who ran onto the field at Camden Yards on the Baltimore Orioles’ opening day in April.

A YouTube video, shot by Harvey’s friends, shows him jumping onto the field Sunday before heading to midfield and dancing around like a crab, blowing kisses to the crowd and eluding security personal.

A man can be heard saying, “I’ve never seen it go on this long. This is great.”

Harvey made it to the 10-yard line before he was finally tackled by guards, handcuffed and led off the field.

He was charged Monday with trespass, disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace.

Harvey told The Baltimore Sun on Monday afternoon he had just returned home after spending a sleepless night in jail.

“I’m beat right now,” he said.

But that’s apparently not going to keep him from streaking again, supposedly for a good cause: “We decided to bring Batman back for the cause of stop bullying,” he told the Sun.

He had the words “Don’t be a bully, be a superhero” painted across his chest during the run.

Social outrage

Monday night’s NFL game between the Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks certainly has everyone atwitter after it ended on a controversial call when Seattle receiver Golden Tate was awarded a winning touchdown catch by the replacement officials on a pass that appeared to be intercepted by former Arkansas State defensive back M.D. Jennings.

Tate also got away with a blatant pushoff on the “catch.”

Here are some the the tweets about the ending:

Comedian Chris Rock: “If you’re holding your baby & I walk up and hug it, according to the NFL replacement refs, you have to give me your baby. # MNF [Green Bay]”

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban: “I would love to see what my reaction would be if a Mavs game ended like #MNF. #Expensive #NBAtime “

Comedian Bill Maher: “So the NFL with replacement refs is now like a card game with Jokers included as wild cards — every 10 plays or so it just makes no sense”

Actor James Van Der Beek: “OK, @NFLCommish Roger Goodell tried to play hardball w/ the refs. He’s clearly lost. Or has he? Replacement refs are signaling touchdown.”

ESPN.com columnist Matthew Berry: “Did the ref have Golden Tate in fantasy? #itsnotoutofthequestion”

Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose: “Ashton Kutcher just walked into the Green Bay locker room and told them they’ve been punked”

Quote of the day

“You had to be on your game. If you were off a little bit, it would cost you a stroke. But we all stayed with our game.”
