SPRINGDALE — Construction will close part of Emma Avenue for two weeks beginning at 8 a.m. Monday.
The Public Works Department will start building a raised crosswalk for the Razorback Greenway, according to a news release. The two-week closing is required for the concrete to cure.
Eastbound traffic on Emma will detour south on Holcomb Street to Meadow Avenue. Westbound traffic will be directed north on Spring Street to Johnson Avenue.
Westbound truck traffic should use Commercial Street to avoid tight turns on Spring Street. Commercial Street can also be used for westbound traffic to detour to the south, according to the news release.
In construction elsewhere in the city, restrictions on traffic at the intersection of Elm Springs Road and 48th Street will continue through Friday, according to the city. Motorists will not be able to turn left from westbound Elm Springs Road to 48th Street. Also northbound traffic on 48th Street will not be able to turn left onto Elm Springs Road.
Oak Grove Road and Har-Ber Avenue will be used as alternate routes.
