EUREKA SPRINGS — Jim Roy Thompson, a resident of Eureka Springs, Ark., was born April 12, 1953, in Springdale, Ark., a son of Crawford Herman and Gwendolyn (Stout) Thompson. He departed this life Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, in Eureka Springs, at the age of 58 years.
On Oct. 12, 1987, Jim was united in marriage with Margaret Kathleen Smith, who survives him of the home. He is also survived by four daughters, Angel Potteet of Siloam Springs, Ark., Rachael Potteet and Malina Buck, both of Berryville, Ark., and Michelle Eichler of Bentonville, Ark.; five grandchildren, Callie Eichler, Holly Jo Howard, Jessie Cole Potteet, Garret Howard and DeShane Buck; three brothers, Danny Thompson, James Thompson and Jerry Stout; and a host of other family and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Gwendolyn and Crawford Herman Thompson.
Memorial services will be 6 p.m. today, Aug. 19, 2011, at Living Faith Church, with Pastor David Keith officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service Inc. Online condolences may be sent to the family at nelsonfuneral.com.
