SPRINGDALE — Bessie Hays, 96, of Springdale died Saturday, July 30, 2011, in Springdale.
She was born Aug. 23, 1914, in Thurber, Texas, the daughter of Vaclav and Rosie Vecera. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathaniel Hays.
She was a retired employee of the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Fayetteville and a Methodist.
She is survived by a son, David Mitchell of Elm Springs; a stepdaughter, Natalie Dial of Cleveland, Okla.; two sisters, Frances Hamilton of Alhambra, Calif., and Agnes Wilson of Buhl, Idaho; at least eight grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at Moore’s Chapel and interment will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today at Moore’s Chapel.
