Jack Clifford Hansen

BELLA VISTA — Jack Clifford Hansen, 85, of Bella Vista, and formerly of St. Paul, Minn., and Balsam Lake, Wis., passed away Oct. 25, 2010. Jack was born Nov. 12, 1924, in St. Paul, Minn., to parents Oscar Hansen and Louise Graham Hansen.

Jack was united in marriage to Carolyn Olson on Feb. 12, 1976, in St. Paul, Minn., and they enjoyed many years together. He was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean War era, during which he served as a pilot in the United States Navy. In addition to Jack’s service in the Naval Reserve, he worked for 30 years as an employee of 3M.

In the mid-1990s, Jack and Carolyn retired to the Bella Vista area. Jack was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista and a member of the Military Officers Association of America.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Robert Hansen.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Hansen of Bella Vista; a brother, Richard Hansen of St. Paul, Minn., who died Oct. 28, 2010; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial services are set for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010, at the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista. The Rev. Dennis Ritchie will officiate.

Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home of Rogers is handling arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista or the Benton County Sunshine School.

Beverly Holt Hahn

ROGERS — Beverly “Kaye” Holt Hahn, known by Kaye, 67, a resident of the Rogers postal area of Benton County, passed away on the 29th of October, 2010. She was a resident of Ashley Health and Rehabilitation for the past eight months. She died after an extended battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), a degenerative neurological disease.

Kaye was born on Aug. 27, 1943, in Memphis, Tenn., to Charles M. and Ellen C. Holt. She grew up in Oklahoma City, where she graduated from John Marshall High School in 1961. She had one brother, Charles M. Holt, Jr.

Kaye attended Oklahoma State University (OSU) where she met her husband-to-be John William Hahn. They were married on June 6, 1964, at Nichols Hills Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. Kaye graduated with a B.A. in Secondary Education from OSU in 1965. After John graduated with a DVM degree in 1966, they moved to Dayton, Ohio, where John was stationed at Wright-Patterson AFB. In 1968, they moved to St. Louis, Mo., where their daughter Kelly Lynn Hahn was born. The Hahns moved to Rogers in 1980, where Dr. Hahn was in Veterinary Practice at the Animal Hospital of Rogers until summer of 1985. Kaye was the office manager/receptionist of the Animal Hospital during most of those five years.

From 1980 to 2001, the Hahns were members of Immanuel Baptist Church in Rogers, and from 2001 to the present time they have been members and attending Fellowship Bible Church of Northwest Arkansas in Rogers. Kaye was a very active Bible teacher. She taught various discipleship classes including Precept Bible Studies.

Kaye was very active in the Benton County Republican Committee. She served as both secretary and chairman of the County Committee. She also worked on various political campaigns including Tim Hutchinson’s Congressional and Senate campaigns, and Fay Boozman’s State Senate and U.S. Senate campaigns.

Kaye is survived by John of the home, her husband of 46 years; her parents Charles (Charlie) and Ellen Holt of Bella Vista; her daughter, Kelly Lynn Miller; son-in-law, Kelly Gene Miller; grandson, Jared William Miller and granddaughter, Allison Kate Miller, all of Rogers. She is also survived by her brother, Charles M. Holt Jr. (Charlie J); sister-in-law, Polly Holt; and nephew Charles M. Holt III (Chaz), all of Oklahoma City.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, at Fellowship Bible Church in the Training Center.

Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010, at Fellowship Bible Church in the Training Center with Pastor John Barclay and Pastor Dale Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Benton County Memorial Park Cemetery.

Kimberly Louise Ivy

FAYETTEVILLE — Kimberly Louise Ivy, 56, of Fayetteville died Oct. 26, 2010, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. She was born Oct. 3, 1954, in Oakland, Calif., to Dorothea Louise Malone and John Ralph Little. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include her children, Ryan K. Fairbanks, Jennifer D. Ogle and her husband Isaac, Katherine S. Burr, and Jordan P. Ivy, all of Fayetteville; three grandchildren; four brothers; and a sister.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Fayetteville. A private celebration of her life will be held at Mineral Springs Cemetery for family and close friends of the family.

Freddie Charles Spencer

WASHBURN, Mo. — Freddie Charles Spencer, 81, of Washburn, Mo., died Friday, Oct. 29, at his home. He was born May 7, 1929, at Monte Ne, to Albert Stanton Hall and Ida Ruth McGarrah Hall. He served in the U.S. Army as a corporal where he was a radio announcer and writer. He was a lifelong resident of the area and was employed at Daisy Manufacturing, retiring after 15 years as a supervisor. He also served as pastor for Piney Point Baptist Church for 12 years. He enjoyed feeding and watching the hummingbirds. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Yvonne Spencer.

Survivors are two sons, Mike Spencer of Pea Ridge, and Fred Spencer and wife Ann of Washburn; two grandchildren, Shay Spencer and wife Kriss of Washburn, and Stephenie Jo Spencer of Pea Ridge; two great-grandchildren, Mati Spencer and Kade Spencer both of Washburn.

Graveside service is set for 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 1, at Pea Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge. No visitation.
