Shay Hopper teaches eighth-grade social studies Monday at Woodland Junior High School in Fayetteville. The school district will roll out a new curriculum to focus on 21st century skills to meet provisions of the common core standards adopted by more than 40 states, including Arkansas. The Fayetteville School Board is updating its strategic plan, which is tied to the new curriculum.
