Rhonda C. Burfield

Rhonda C. Burfield, 63, of Yucatan, Minn. died on Thursday, January 25, 2018, in Caledonia, Minn. Rhonda was born on August 4, 1954, in Rogers, Ark. to F.C. "Clifford" and Helen (Overacre) Thomas. On May 21, 1981, she married Terry Burfield at the Money Creek United Methodist Church in Money Creek, Minn. They were later divorced. Rhonda loved her farm in Yucatan, especially her horses, donkeys, mules (Hemi was her favorite Mule) and her inseparable pal, Screech. Screech was her favorite dog who passed away the same time that Rhonda did. Rhonda enjoyed the outdoors. She loved fishing, trail rides and caring for any abandoned animal that would find it's way to her. Rhonda had a spitfire personality and was fun to be around. Her grandchildren were the centerpiece of her life. She was a member of the Circle A Saddle Club. Rhonda is survived by two daughters: Rachel Lange of West Concord, Minn. and her sons, Randy and Michael, and Sarah (Kyle) Burfield of Spring Grove, Minn. and her son, Jackson; two other grandchildren who are her late son, Danny's children: Meryah and Ethan; brother-in-law, Jimmy "Pete" Hummel of Pea Ridge, Ark.; and by nieces and nephews: David Thomas, Cyndi Crayton, Stephen Thomas, Wendy Bailey and Peter Hummel. She was preceded in death by her sons: Danny in 2008, and Scottie, who died in infancy; parents; brother, Guy Thomas; sister, Pat Hummel; niece, Cathy Thomas; nephew,Timothy Thomas; and son-in-law, Ron Lange. There will be a memorial service for Rhonda at 4 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2018, at Hoff Funeral Service in Houston, Minn. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials.
