Susan Rollins Tennant went peacefully from this life to the next on Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017, at her home in Raleigh, N.C., with her family by her side. Susan was born on September 1, 1955, in Springdale, Ark., the daughter of Lorene and Tom Rollins. She graduated from Springdale High and the University of Arkansas, meeting her husband, Jeff Tennant, of Lincoln, and beginning nearly 40 years of marriage. She developed her faith early at Sycamore Baptist Church near Fayetteville, remaining devoted to Christian ministry. Susan taught school and supported Jeff in career and business, partnering with him to launch Arkansas Farmer magazine in Stuttgart, then moving to Raleigh, N.C., after the magazine was acquired by Rural Press USA. Susan worked for Rural Press, New Community Church and finally Easterseals UCP before fighting ovarian cancer full time. Susan is preceded in death by her father and mother, Tom and Lorene Rollins. She is survived by husband Jeff, her daughter Adrian Tennant Savic, son-in-law, Nemanja Savic, (all of Raleigh), her brother Bob Rollins of Pea Ridge, Ark., parental in-laws, Forrest and Vanzetta Tennant of Fayetteville, Ark., and many relatives. Visitation is planned for Sunday, Jan. 29, from noon to 2 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers, Ark., then burial at Mt. Comfort cemetery in Fayetteville.
