William "Hayden" Myers Jr., 83, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Chapel Ridge Nursing Home located in Fort Smith. He was born February 4, 1934 in West Fork the son of Dorothea Louise Malone and William Hayden Myers Sr. Hayden had lived in the Northwest Arkansas area for over 30 years after moving from California. He was a graduate of West Fork High School. He loved playing the piano and was a musician for many years. He played with the likes of Merle Haggard, The Buck Owens TV Show and Elvis. In his later years he played at various clubs all over Northwest Arkansas. He served during the Korean Conflict as a Medic with the US Navy and later served in the US Marines, and finished up his service of seven years with the US Air Force. He was preceded in death by: his parents, two sons; Aaron Myers, Donald Myers, one sister; Kim Ivy, and one brother; Johnny Little. Hayden is survived by: four sons; Craig Myers, Mark Myers, Michael Myers, Alan Myers, two daughters; Cheryl Stamps, Leanne Myers, two brothers; Raymond Bruce Myers and his wife Judy, of West Fork, Ron Myers and his wife Dee Dee, of Bella Vista, one sister; Shirley Louise Compton, of Washington, one step-daughter, Marian Henry, of Fort Smith and many grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be Saturday, March 4th at 11 a.m. at Mineral Springs Cemetery located in West Fork. Arrangements by Epting Funeral Home of Fayetteville.
